What are placeholders?
Placeholders, also known as merge tags, are dynamic elements you can insert into your webpages, emails, and other communication systems within Azavista. They automatically pull personalized data from the fields in your participants' profiles, allowing you to create tailored experiences.
For example, inserting the merge tag [[participant.registering_as]] (using the custom field "registering_as") in an email will display the participant's registration type, such as "Speaker" or "Attendee," based on the value stored in their profile.
By incorporating placeholders, you can deliver personalized, professional, and efficient communication that enhances participant engagement and satisfaction.
Why use Placeholders?
Personalized Communications
-
- Add a personal touch by dynamically including participant details, like their name, organization, or registration type.
- Example: "Hi [[participant.first_name]], welcome to [[event.name]]!"
Efficiency and Accuracy
-
- Avoid manual data entry by automatically pulling information from the Fields Manager.
- Ensure consistent data usage across multiple communication channels.
Streamlined Workflows
-
- Use placeholders in automations for emails, event pages, or participant summaries.
- Example: Include personalized schedules or registration summaries in confirmation emails.
How and where can I use placeholders?
You can add merge tags:
- On webpages
- In email bodies
- On email subjects
- In email CCs (e.g. [[participant.secretary_email_address]])
- In text messages
- In certificates
- In automations
In the web or email builder, double click a text section to edit it. The toolbar will appear, from which you can select the placeholder of your choice. You can also manually insert a participant or event placeholder using the formats:
- Participant field: [[participant.custom_field_name]]
- Event field: [[event.custom_field_name]]
For example, you could add and format these merge tags on your web pages or emails
