The Registrations with Waiting List block enables participants to access a form - a registration form, a survey, or any other type of form. Using this block, anyone with access to the event's website can access and submit the form.
Once the participant submits the form, they are redirected to a confirmation page, receive a confirmation email, and are moved to the next block, typically the Pre-arrival block.
In addition to standard form handling, this block includes a waiting list functionality. You can set a maximum number of registrations, and once that limit is reached, you can choose between two behaviors:
-
Use waiting list - Disabled: The submit button on the form becomes inactive, forms cannot be submitted.
-
Use waiting list - Enabled: The submit button remains active, but new submissions are placed in a Waitlist stage instead of being registered. These participants are queued.
When a spot becomes available (e.g. due to a cancellation or an increased capacity), the next waitlisted participant in line are notified via email and invited to register for the event.
You can configure how long a participant's spot remains reserved when they're first invited to register for the event, or when a registration spot is made available for them. Once the reservation time expires, the spot is granted to the next participant in line.
Participants receive different confirmation pages and emails based on whether they are fully registered or added to the waitlist.

🔗 How it Works
You can connect the Registrations with waiting list block to a preceding block like Invitation, although it's optional since the form is publicly accessible. Linking it still allows you to track invited participants.
Connect it to a following block like Pre-arrival to manage participants who complete their registration.
Once the form is submitted:
-
If the registration limit has not been reached:
-
The participant is redirected to the standard Thank you page
-
They receive the standard Thank you email
-
They move to the next stage in the workflow
-
-
If the registration limit has been reached and waiting list is enabled:
- They receive the waiting list Thank you page
-
They receive the waiting list Thank you email
- They stay in the Registration waiting list block, in the Waiting list stage
When a spot opens up for someone on the waitlist, they receive a notification email inviting them to register. If they act within the reservation window, they’re moved into the registration flow.
