In Azavista, you can have unique reference numbers assigned to participants automatically as soon as they register to your event. The reference number is a useful way of identifying participants later on.
In order to set this up, you first need a participant field to store the reference number. Simply navigate to your event and then to the Fields Manager module and create a participant field with the type of Text called "Participant reference number" or a similar name that's easy for you to identify later. For more information on how to create custom text fields, see this article. You can also choose to create this field as a global contact field should you wish to create it once and use it across multiple events. Use the Global Fields Manager module at the global level instead to do so.
Once you have your field, navigate to your event and to the Workflows module. From the list of workflow automations, find and click on your registration workflow. Then click on the "After registration actions" button to set up automatic actions to be taken when a participant registers to your event.
In the revealed popup window, turn on the Edit Mode and click the green add button to add an action block. Select the "Add reference number" action from the Action Type dropdown menu and click Add.
Now expand the action block and select the reference number field you created earlier from the Field dropdown menu. Click Save Changes to save your configuration.
From this point on, when a participant registers to your event, i.e., goes through your registration workflow, they will have a unique reference number assigned to them automatically.
