Managing and Configuring the External Site Link Button
Overview
The External Site Link Button allows event organizers to place a customizable link on their event pages. This button can connect participants to external resources, documents, or related websites. Users can configure the button’s appearance, behavior, target URL, and placement within the page builder to match their event design and navigation needs.
Step-by-Step Approach
1. Add or Access the External Site Link Button
- Open the event’s Web Builder.
- Navigate to the section where you want to add or update the button.
- Drag and drop the External Site Link component to the desired area on the page.
2. Reposition the External Site Link Button
- Click and hold the button element.
- Drag it to a new location within the same section or into another section.
- Release to confirm the new placement.
3. Edit Button Title
- Select the button to open its settings panel.
- Enter or edit the Title to define the text displayed on the button.
4. Edit the Button Color (Hexa Code)
- In the style settings, locate the Color field.

Enter or modify the hexadecimal color code (for example,
#1A73E8) to update the button’s appearance.
5. Edit the Button ID
- Enter or edit the ID to define a unique identifier for the button.
- Use this for tracking, analytics, anchor links, or custom scripts if applicable.
6. Select a Dependency
- Open the Dependency dropdown field.
- Select the dependency that determines when or how the button appears based on other page elements or conditions.
7. Choose Section Version Type
- Use the Section Version Type selector to apply a specific version or layout configuration for this button within the existing web section.
8. Select an Existing URL from the URL Field
- Open the URL dropdown to choose from predefined links stored in the system.
- This is useful when reusing frequently used URLs.
9. Enter a New URL (With or Without HTTPS)
- In the URL field, you can manually enter a new link.

https://prefix. - Ensure the link directs to a valid external webpage.
10. Select the Target Behavior
- In the Target dropdown, choose how the link should open:
- Open in the same window/tab
- Open in a new window/tab
11. Style or Format the Button on the Web Builder
- Use the available styling options such as alignment, button size, text formatting, and spacing.
- Adjust padding, font size, or button shape based on your design preferences.
12. Add an Anchor Link

Enter an anchor reference (for example,
#ID) to link the button to a specific section on the same page. - Ensure the target section contains a matching anchor ID.
13. Remove the External Site Link Button
- Select the button, then click Remove or Delete.
- Confirm the action to remove it from the page layout.
