Adding and Configuring Language Component on a Web Page
Overview
The Language component allows organizers to display and manage language options on a web page, enabling users to switch between available languages easily. Using the Web Builder, you can add, configure, reposition, or remove the Language component, as well as control its visibility using dependencies and section version types. This article explains how to configure and manage the Language component on a web page.
Step-by-Step Approach
1. Access the Web Builder
- On the Event Dashboard, go to the Content module.
- Select the Pages submenu.
- Open the required page in edit mode.
2. Add a Language Component
- From the Components panel, locate the Languages component.
- Drag and drop the Languages component onto the desired section of the web page.
- The Languages component is added and visible in the layout.
3. Enter or Edit Hexa Code for Color
- Click on the Languages component to open its Settings panel.
- Locate the Color (Hexa Code) field.
- Enter or edit the hexadecimal color code to customize the appearance of the language selector.
- Changes are reflected immediately in the page preview.
4. Select Dependency from the Dependency Select Field
- In the Languages Settings panel, locate the Dependency select field.
- Choose an existing dependency from the list.
- The Languages component will display or hide based on the configured dependency conditions.
5. Select Section Version Type from the Section Version Type Select Field
- In the Languages Settings, locate the Section Version Type select field.
- Select the appropriate section version type.
- The Languages component follows the visibility rules defined for the selected version type.
6. Enter or Edit ID
- In the Languages Settings, locate the ID field.
- Enter a new ID or edit the existing value as required.
7. Enter or Edit Title
- Locate the Title field in the Languages Settings panel.
- Enter a title or edit the existing text.
- The updated title is displayed on the web page.
8. Manage Language Component
- Reposition the Languages component using drag-and-drop within the page layout.
- Remove the Languages component if it is no longer required.
9. Save and Apply Changes
- Publish the page to apply the configured Language component settings.
- Preview the page to validate Language component placement and behaviour.
