Adding and Configuring Social Media Section on a Webpage
Overview
The Social Media section allows users to display social network icons on a webpage so participants can quickly access external social media profiles. Using the Web Builder, users can add, configure, and manage the Social Media section by defining icons, links, targets, and visibility settings.
Step-by-Step Approach
1. Access the Web Builder
- From the Event dashboard, navigate to the Content module.
- Select the Pages submenu.
- Open the required webpage in edit mode.
2. Drag and Drop Social Media
- From the component panel, locate the Social Media component.
- Drag and drop the Social Media component into the desired section of the webpage.
3. Enter or Edit ID
- Select the Social Media component.
- Enter or edit the ID field in the settings panel.
- The ID can be used for navigation, styling, or tracking purposes.
4. Enter or Edit Title
- Enter or update the title displayed for the Social Media section.
5. Select Dependency from Dependency Select Field
- Choose a dependency if required.
- The Social Media section displays or hides based on the selected dependency conditions.
6. Select Section Version Type from Section Version Type Select Field
- Select the appropriate section version type.
- This controls which version of the Social Media section is displayed.
7. Select Image Set from the Image Set Select Field
- Choose the image set for the social media icons.
- The selected image set defines the visual appearance of the icons.
8. Enter or Edit Alt Text for Each Social Network Icon
- Enter or update the alt text for each social network icon.
- Alt text improves accessibility and provides descriptive information.
9. Enter or Edit URL for Each Social Network Icon
- Enter or update the URL for each social network icon.
- Ensure the URLs link to the correct social media profiles.
10. Select Target for Each Social Network Icon
- Select the target option, such as opening the link in the same tab or a new tab.
- Apply the target setting individually for each social network icon.
11. Manage the Social Media Component
- Reposition the Social Media component using drag-and-drop within the page layout.
- Remove the Social Media component if it is no longer required.
12. Save and Apply Changes
- Save and publish the webpage to apply the Social Media configuration.
- Preview the webpage to verify that the icons display correctly and links work as expected.
