Validating Public Calendar section on the Event Website
Overview
The Public Calendar section allows organizers to display a shared calendar on a web page, enabling visitors to view scheduled events and important dates directly on the event website. Using the Web Builder, users can add, configure, and manage the Public Calendar section by defining its settings, dependencies, and layout behavior.
This article explains how to add and configure a Public Calendar section on a web page using the Web Builder.
Step-by-Step Approach
1. Access the Web Builder
- From the Event dashboard, navigate to the Content module.
- Select the Pages submenu.
- Open the required webpage in edit mode.
2. Drag and Drop Public Calendar
- From the section library, locate the Public Calendar component.
- Drag and drop the Public Calendar section onto the desired location on the web page.
3. Enter or Edit ID
- In the section settings panel, enter a unique ID for the Public Calendar.
- Edit the ID if needed to meet internal naming or tracking requirements.
4. Enter or Edit Title
- Enter a Title that will be displayed above the Public Calendar on the web page.
- Update the title as required to reflect the content or purpose of the calendar.
5. Select Dependency from Dependency Select Field
- Choose a dependency from the Dependency select field.
- This controls when the Public Calendar section is displayed based on defined conditions.
6. Select Section Version Type from Section Version Type Select Field
- Select the appropriate Section Version Type to determine how the Public Calendar behaves across different versions or layouts of the web page.
7. Select Calendar from Calendar Select Field
- From the Calendar select field, choose the required public calendar.
- Ensure that Calendar Integrations are already set up before selecting a calendar.
- The selected calendar will be displayed on the web page.
8. Manage the Public Calendar Section
- Reposition the Public Calendar section using drag-and-drop within the page layout.
- Remove the Public Calendar section if it is no longer required.
9. Save and Apply Changes
- Save and publish the webpage to apply the Public Calendar configuration.
- Preview the webpage to confirm that the calendar displays and functions correctly.
