This article offers a comprehensive guide to creating, configuring, and using the Event App. By the end of this guide, you'll have a clear understanding of how to set up and fully utilize the Event App to provide a seamless and interactive experience for your event attendees.
1. At Global level, select the Event app module and click on the button "+ Event app" Enter the Name, Slug, and select the theme to be used for the app. You can always update these details later on. Copy the URL of the Event app and paste it into another tab to open it - We will come back to the actual app when we have configured it for an event.
2. In the detailed view of the Event app you just created, click the Events tab and add the event(s) that should appear in the list of events in the app.
3. Open the event you added, navigate to the Content module, and create a new page of the sub-type "Event app", you can name it "App Homepage" and customize it just like a normal web page.
4. Create or edit an existing email to include the button "Event app", which will be sent to your participants to access the app. Click the the text of the button to open the button's settings, and select your app in the setting "Event app name".
5. Navigate to the Event app module. Start by assigning the newly created App Homepage to the setting "Default page", and upload an image that will be used for your event, in the app's list of events.
6. Enable and configure the relevant modules, as required (don't forget to click save when you are done). Add the enabled modules to the top or bottom menu, using the Placement section. See our knowledge base category dedicated to configuring each module.
7. Navigate to the Participants module and yourself as a registered participant (i.e. place your participant in a "Pre-arrival" workflow). Events can be accessed only by registered participants.
8. Open the Event app (in the tab that was previously opened) and click on Password reset to create your event app account. You can then navigate the list of event, and click your event to start testing it.
