This article provides a comprehensive guide to getting started with forms using the Content Builder module, outlining how to create, customize, and manage your own forms, such as registration forms or surveys.
By the end of this guide, you will have a clear understanding of the essential tools available for building forms tailored to your event, helping you efficiently collect and organize participant data.
1. At Event level, navigate to the Content module -> Pages submodule, and create a new page. Give it the name of your choice and select a theme. Keep the subtype "normal".
2. Start drag and dropping the sections of your choice (from the sections menu on the right, to the website canvas on the left). You can start by adding a Header and a Footer.
3. In-between these sections, add the section "Single column form" or " Two columns form". These two sections work the same, you can select either one depending on your formatting preferences.
4. Into the single/two columns form, drag and drop the fields Email, First name, Last name, from the list of sections (you can search for them). These are mandatory in all forms, you can then add any other field of your choice.
5. Add the button "Form button", to be able to submit the form on the website.
6. Click on the publish button when you are done creating or updating the page, to make (its latest version) available for use.
7. Create another content page (without any field or submit button) to be used as a Confirmation page, for your participants to know that the submission of the form was successful.
8. As opposed to content pages, forms cannot be added to the header via the Menu editor. Forms are accessible only as part of a registration workflow (public, private, etc.). You can add it to a public registration workflow to easily test it. Also add the Confirmation page you just created to this same workflow.
9. Open the website and navigate to the form. Field in the mandatory fields, and click on submit. The newly created participant profile will be added to the Participants module.
