Configuring the Social Share Module for the Event App
Overview
The Social Share Module allows event app users to share event content directly across social media platforms. Event organisers can configure which platforms to include, customise share details (such as title and summary), and control where the Social Share option appears in the app. This ensures participants can easily promote sessions, updates, and highlights to their social networks.
Step-by-Step Approach
1. Activate or Deactivate the Social Share Module
- Navigate to the Event App section of your event dashboard.
- Locate the Social Share Module within the module list.
- Use the toggle switch to enable or disable the module.
- When ON: the module becomes visible in the event app interface.
- When OFF: it will not appear for participants.
2. Edit the Module Name and Icon
- Click the Edit icon next to the Social Share Module.
- In the configuration panel, modify the Module Name to match your event branding (for example, “Share This Event”).
- Select or upload an appropriate Module Icon that represents social sharing.
- Click Save to confirm your updates.
3. Select Social Media Platform(s)
- In the Platforms section, choose which social media channels participants can share to.
- Supported platforms may include: Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and Pinterest.
- You can enable multiple platforms for a wider reach.
- Click Save to apply your selections.
4. Configure Share Content Settings
- Under Share Details, define what information will be shared:
- Shareable URL: The link users will share (for example, event homepage or session link).
- Title: The headline or name of the event/session.
- Summary: A short description or highlight text.
- Media URL: Add an image or banner that will appear with the shared content.
- Via Value: Specify your event or organization’s handle for tagging (for example, “via @YourEvent”).
- Hashtags: Include relevant hashtags to boost event visibility.
- Generate a Preview of the content to ensure formatting and accuracy.
5. Choose Placement of Social Share Menu
- In the Placement Settings, decide where the Social Share option will appear within the Event App:
- Top Menu
- Bottom Menu
- Click Save to finalise placement.
