Configuring News Feed for the Event App
Overview
This article explains how to configure and customise the News Feed Module for your Event App. The News Feed enables event managers to share updates, announcements, and important information with participants in real time. Users can activate or deactivate the module, modify its visual identity, adjust moderation settings, define its placement within the Event App menu, and perform validation before publishing.
Step-by-Step Approach
1. Activate or Deactivate the News Feed Module
- Open the Event App on your device.
- Navigate to the News Feed Module in the modules list.

Use the toggle switch to turn the module ON or
OFF:
- ON: The module becomes visible in the Event App menu.
- OFF: The module will not appear for participants.
2. Edit the Module Name and Icon
- Tap the Edit icon next to the News Feed Module.
- Modify the Module Name to match your preferred naming or event theme (e.g., Event Updates, Announcements).
- Choose or upload an appropriate Module Icon to represent the News Feed.
- Tap Save to confirm changes.
3. Select or Unselect the Moderation Checkbox
- Check the box to enable content moderation, ensuring all posts are reviewed before they appear to participants.
- Uncheck the box if you prefer posts to be published automatically without approval.
4. Select the Placement of the News Feed Menu on the Event App

In the Placement Settings, choose where the module appears
within the Event App:
- Main Menu
- Bottom Menu
- Click Save to finalise placement.
5. Pre-Validate the Module
- After completing configuration, click Generate Preview to perform a pre-validation check.
- The system ensures that all mandatory settings (name, icon, and placement) are correctly defined.
- Review the module layout and confirm that all configurations appear as intended before publishing.
