Managing Event App Access for the Participant
Overview
Event organizers can manage how participants access the Event App by configuring multiple access methods, including generic web links, white-label URLs, and activation-code emails. These options ensure participants can join the event using the channel best suited to their device, app type, and event configuration. Additionally, organizers can create content pages to enrich the Event App experience.
Step-by-Step Approach
1. Add a Generic Link for Web-Based Access (3.0.app…)
- Navigate to the Event App Access settings.
- Locate the option for adding a generic web-based access link.
- The generic URL (e.g., 3.0.app…) is automatically generated and pre-selected.
- Copy and share this link with participants who will access the app via a browser.
2. Add a White-Label Link for Web-Based Access (events.customer.com/)
- Go to Event Settings.
- Select the Marketing URL (e.g., events.customer.com).
- Add or confirm the white-label link to enable branded access to the web-based app.
- Share this custom URL with participants for a fully branded experience.
3. Add an Email With an Activation Code – Web-Based Event App
- Go to Event Email Campaigns.
- Design the email template to include the Event App link and the activation-code login for the web-based app.
- Insert required placeholders such as participant name, event name, and activation code.
- Send the email so participants can access the Event App via the generic or white-label URL using their activation code.
4. Add an Email With an Activation Code – Standalone Event App (iOS & Android)
- Navigate to Event Email Campaigns.
- Design the template to include the activation code and direct links to download the iOS and Android apps.
- Verify that all links and activation instructions are correctly inserted.
- Send the email so participants can install the standalone Event App and authenticate using their activation code.
5. Add Content Pages for the Event App
- Open the Content Pages section within the Event.
- Create new pages such as FAQs, Venue Info, Support, Agenda Highlights, or Sponsors.
- Add text, images, links, or embedded components as required.
- Save and publish the pages to make them visible inside the Event App.
