Validating Video Component on the Event App

Overview

The Video Component in the Event App allows you to display video content from various providers such as HTML5, YouTube, and Vimeo. Validation ensures that the video is displayed correctly, plays as expected, and follows the configured settings for playback and appearance.

Both Participants and Moderators can verify the visibility, functionality, and configuration of the Video Component within the Event App.

Step-by-Step Approach

1. Validate the Video Component

• Log in to the Event App as a Participant.
• Navigate to the page where the Video Component is published.
• Verify the following:
  • The video is visible and properly loaded on the page.
  • The correct video is displayed based on the configured provider (HTML5, YouTube, or Vimeo).
  • The video plays without errors.
  • Playback settings function as expected:
    • AutoPlay (if enabled) starts automatically
    • Loop (if enabled) replays the video
    • Controls (if enabled) are visible and usable
  • For YouTube videos:
    • Related videos behave as configured
    • Modest branding appears as expected
  • For Vimeo videos:
    • Player color and display settings are applied correctly
• Ensure that:
  • The video loads efficiently across different devices and browsers.
  • There are no playback errors or broken links.
  • The component maintains responsiveness and alignment within the page layout.
