Configuring Splitter Workflow
Overview
The Splitter Workflow allows you to branch your process into multiple paths based on defined criteria. This helps you manage different user journeys from a single point in the workflow. You can add the block to the Main Editor, configure its name and description, define the Splitter Stage Name, and manage its settings using the Edit details, Lock, and Delete actions.
Step-by-Step Approach
1. Drag and drop the Splitter Workflow block
- Navigate to the Main Editor of your workflow builder.
- From the workflow components panel, drag and drop the Splitter Workflow block onto the canvas in the desired position.
2. Open workflow actions
- Click Edit details to configure the workflow.
- Click Lock to prevent further edits (if required).
- Click Delete to remove the workflow block (if it is no longer needed).
Note: Locking the workflow ensures that no accidental changes are made once configuration is complete.
3. Enter or edit the workflow name and description
- Enter a Workflow Name to clearly identify the Splitter Workflow.
- Add a Description to provide context or usage notes for admins and collaborators.
4. Enter or edit the Splitter Stage Name
- Locate the Splitter Stage Name field.
- Enter the name you want displayed for this stage in the workflow.
- Save your changes.
Tip: The Splitter Stage Name helps distinguish this branching point from other workflow stages.
5. Add Splitter Conditions
- Add your required conditions such as:
- Splitter-1 Condition
- Splitter-2 Condition
Each condition will define when a user is directed to the matching workflow branch.
6. Create, update, or remove dependencies
Inside the Manage Conditions pop-up you can:
- Create a new dependency – add rules that define when the condition should be applied.
- Update an existing dependency – modify fields, criteria, or values when your logic changes.
- Remove a dependency – delete any rule that is no longer required.
7. Select the object and field criteria
For each dependency, choose the source of data from the available dropdown menus. You can configure conditions using any of the following objects:
Event Object
- Select Event
- Choose the relevant field
- Set the field criteria (e.g., equals, contains, starts with)
- Select or enter the field value
Participant Object
- Select Participant
- Choose the field you want to evaluate
- Apply the field criteria
- Define the field value
This is commonly used to segment based on role, status, or profile details.
Event Settings Object
- Select Event Settings
- Choose the relevant field
- Apply the appropriate criteria
- Enter or select the value
Product Object
- Select Product
- Choose the field
- Define the criteria
- Enter the value
Workflow Object
- Select Workflow
- Choose the workflow-related field
- Set your criteria
- Enter or select the value
Activities Object
- Select Activities
- Select the activity field
- Apply the condition logic
- Define the required value
8. Build complex logic using AND / OR
- Within each condition you can add multiple dependency lines.
- Use AND when all criteria must be true.
- Use OR when any one of the criteria may be true.
Note: This allows you to create many different combinations of dependency values to accurately route participants.
Result
Once configured, the system will automatically evaluate the Splitter Conditions when a participant reaches the Splitter Workflow stage. Based on the rules you’ve defined, the participant will continue along the correct workflow path — ensuring a smooth and relevant process flow.
