Tracking Moneris Event Transactions
Overview
The Moneris payment integration allows administrators to monitor and validate event payment transactions in a secure development environment. By accessing the Moneris development account, admins can track payments generated from test registrations and verify how payments and cancellations are recorded. This ensures accurate transaction reporting and correct refund handling before enabling live payments for events.
Step-by-Step Approach
1. Access the Moneris Development Account
- Log in to the Moneris Development Account using the credentials configured during integration setup.
- Confirm that you are working in the test or development environment, not the live production account.
- Navigate to Transaction Search, Reports, or Transaction Management.
- Review the list of transactions generated by test event registrations.
2. Track the Payment on a Test Registration
- Complete a test registration for the event that includes payment.
- In the event admin interface, go to Registrations, Orders, or Transactions.
- Locate the test participant and note the transaction reference ID.
- In the Moneris development account:
- Search for the transaction using the reference ID, date, or amount.
- Open the transaction details.
Verify that:
- The payment status appears as Approved, Completed, or Paid.
- The transaction amount matches the test registration.
- The transaction details correspond to the correct event or order reference.
3. Track the Payment and Cancellation on a Test Registration
- Complete a test registration with a successful Moneris payment.
- Cancel the registration using the event’s cancellation workflow.
- In the event admin interface:
- Confirm the registration status updates to Cancelled.
- Check for a refund or reversal entry based on the event’s cancellation policy.
- In the Moneris development account:
- Open the original payment transaction.
- Review any linked refund, void, or reversal records.
Confirm that:
- The cancellation action is recorded in the transaction history.
- Any refunded amount aligns with the event’s cancellation rules.
- The payment and cancellation are clearly linked for reconciliation and auditing.
Summary
By accessing the Moneris development account, tracking test payments, and validating cancellation scenarios, administrators can ensure that Moneris event transactions are recorded accurately. This verification helps confirm reliable payment tracking and correct refund behaviour before enabling live event registrations.
