Validating Check-In App Compatibility
Overview
Validating the Check-In App's compatibility ensures that the application can function smoothly across different environments and usage conditions. Users can verify language support, offline functionality, network detection, version awareness, logout functionality, and the ability to exit the application — all essential components to confirm the app's compatibility with event operational requirements.
Step-by-Step Approach
1. Change the Language Settings for the Check-In App
- Open the Check-In App on your device.
- Navigate to the Language Settings menu.
- Choose the preferred language from the available list.
- The app interface will immediately switch to the selected language.
- This verifies that the app supports multilingual compatibility.
2. Use the Check-In App Without an Active Internet Connection
- The Check-In App is designed to operate in both online and offline environments.
- Disconnect the device from the internet.
- The app will remain functional, allowing you to continue performing check-ins.
- This validates the app's compatibility with low-connectivity or no-connectivity event locations.
3. Detect Offline Mode When WiFi/Internet Is Not Connected
- When the device loses internet access, the app automatically switches to Offline Mode.
- An Offline Mode indicator appears at the bottom right corner of the screen.
- This helps confirm that the app is compatible with offline workflows and local data storage.
4. View the Check-In App Version Number
- Open the main screen or navigate to the app Settings.
- Locate the version number displayed within the interface.
- This step ensures compatibility verification by confirming that the correct or latest version is installed.
5. Log Out of the Check-In App
- Open the Check-In App and log in with your credentials.
- On the login screen you will see the option to Select an Event or Create an Event.
- Click on Select an Event to proceed.
- Once inside the app, locate the Profile Icon at the top right corner of the screen.
- Click on the Profile Icon to open the dropdown menu.
- Select the Logout option from the dropdown.
- The app will log you out and return you to the login screen.
6. Exit the Application
- Click Exit to Desktop located in the top right corner of the screen.
- The app closes and returns you to the device's desktop environment.
- This confirms the app's compatibility with standard device-level navigation and closing behaviours.
Following these steps helps ensure the Check-In App functions reliably across languages, network conditions, and device environments.
