Managing Participants – Badge Print Mode – Offline Mode(Caching)
Overview
Badge Print Mode’s Offline Mode (Caching) allows users to continue accessing participant data and performing essential badge-printing actions even when the device temporarily loses internet connectivity. By relying on locally cached data, users can search participants, open participant details, and initiate print actions without interruption until connectivity is restored.

Step-by-Step Approach
1. Access the Participant List in Offline Mode
- Open the Badge Print Mode interface on your device.
- If the device is offline, the system automatically switches to Offline Mode (Caching).
- The participant list displays the most recently synced participants stored locally on the device.
2. Search for Participants
- Use the search bar to look up participants by name, email, or registration details.
- The search will filter through the cached data available on the device.
- Results will only include participants synced before the device went offline.
3. Open Participant Details
- Select a participant from the offline list.
- Participant details—including registration status, badge information, and custom fields—will load from cached records.
- Note: Fields updated after the device went offline will not appear until the next online sync.
4. Initiate Badge Printing
- Click Print Badge to generate a badge using the locally stored data.
- The print action is executed immediately if the badge printer is connected and powered on.
- The system queues print logs for sync once the device reconnects.
5. Understand Limitations in Offline Mode
- No new participant registrations or updates can be fetched while offline.
- Changes made on other devices will not appear until the connection is restored.
- The participant list may not reflect the latest event check-ins or edits.
6. Sync Data Once Online
- When the device regains connectivity, the system automatically syncs cached activity.
- Participant updates, new records, and print logs refresh and become available.
- The interface returns to online mode without requiring user action.
