Managing Sessions & Activities Offline Mode (Caching)
Overview
The Check-In App supports offline mode through local caching, allowing event staff to continue managing sessions and participant check-ins even when the device loses internet connectivity. In offline mode, users can access session lists, view participants, and perform check-ins. All actions are automatically synchronized once the device reconnects to the internet.
Step-by-Step Approach
1. Open the Check-In App
- Launch the Check-In App on your device.
- If the device is offline, the app automatically switches to Offline Mode (Caching).
2. Access Sessions & Activities
- Go to the Sessions & Activities menu.
- The app loads cached session data that was previously downloaded when the device was online.
- Select any session from the cached list.
3. View Participants in Offline Mode
- Once a session is selected, the list of participants stored in cache becomes visible.
- You can scroll, search, and filter participants based on the offline data available.
4. Perform Offline Check-In
- Click on any participant in the list.
- Select Check In to mark the participant as present.
- The check-in is stored locally on the device until connectivity is restored.
5. Continue Working Without Internet
- You can move between sessions, open participant details, and perform multiple check-ins.
- All operations are saved to local storage and do not require an active connection.
6. Automatic Sync When Online
- When the device reconnects to the internet, the app automatically synchronizes:
- Check-in records performed offline
- Participant updates
- Session-related changes
- A confirmation message may appear if sync is successful.
7. Limitations to Keep in Mind
- Only data previously cached while online is available offline.
- Newly created sessions or participant updates made in the backend are not accessible until the device reconnects.
