Managing Kiosk Scan Mode
Overview
Kiosk Scan Mode allows participants to quickly check in by scanning their QR codes at the kiosk. The system recognises printed and digital QR codes, validates participant status, displays appropriate messages, and enables badge printing where configured. This ensures a smooth, efficient, and automated check-in experience.
Step-by-Step Approach
1. Scan a Printed QR Code
- Hold your printed QR code in front of the kiosk’s scanning area.
- The QR code is automatically detected and processed by the system.
2. Scan a Mobile QR Code
- Open your QR code on your mobile device.
- Place the mobile screen in the QR scan area.
- The system recognises and reads the QR code from the screen.
3. Scan a Mobile QR Code with Black Background
- Show the mobile QR code displayed with a black background.
- The kiosk successfully recognises and validates the QR code.
4. Scan a Mobile QR Code with Bright White Background
- Present the QR code on a mobile screen with a strong white background.
- The kiosk still recognises and processes the QR code correctly.
5. View an Error Screen for Invalid QR Codes
- If an incorrect or unsupported QR code is scanned, an error screen appears.
- The message informs the participant that the QR code is not valid for the event.
6. See a Validation Message When Rescanning an Already Scanned QR Code
- If a QR code already marked as scanned is presented again, the kiosk shows a validation warning.
- The message indicates that the QR code has already been used.
7. View Participant Check-In Pop-Up
- On a valid scan, the system displays a participant check-in confirmation pop-up.
- This pop-up shows participant details and any relevant actions.
8. Print the Badge
- Select the Print Badge button on the pop-up.
- The connected badge printer prints the participant’s badge.
9. Reprint the Badge (When Enabled)
- If badge reprinting is allowed in Kiosk Pre-Scan Mode settings, participants can reprint their badge.
- Select the Reprint Badge option to print another copy.
