Managing Badge Count Settings
Overview
The Badge Settings section in the Check-In App helps event staff monitor badge usage, reset badge counters when adding new stock, configure low-stock alerts (email and SMS), and test notification delivery. Proper badge management prevents shortages and ensures uninterrupted printing during the event.
Step-by-Step Approach
1. Review and Update the Number of Badges Added
- Open the Check-In App and navigate to Settings.
- Locate the Badge Added in the Badge Count section.
- Click Update to enter the number of new badges added to the printer.
- On the Badge Count pop-up, enter Badge Stack Added
- On the Badge Count pop-up, enter Badge Stack Printed
- The Badges Available field will be automatically calculated as the difference between Badges Added and Badges Printed.
- Click on Save button.
This allows the system to track badge usage and helps avoid running out of printing stock during check-in.

- View the number of badges printed from the current stack.
- Verify that the count reflects recent badge printing activity.
3. Reset Badge Count for a New Stack
- When loading a new stack of badges, select Reset Count.

- Ensure the current badge count is set to 0 before printing resumes.
Note: Always reset the count when inserting a new stack to maintain accurate tracking.
4. Review Total Badges Printed During the Event
- Navigate to the Total Badge Count section.
- Review the cumulative number of badges printed on the kiosk.
- Use this data for reporting and inventory management.
5. Configure Low Badge Alerts
- Open the Alert Settings panel.
- Set the alert threshold to 10 badges or lower.
- Enable Email Alerts and SMS Alerts.
6. Configure Email Alerts
- In the Email Notification field, enter the recipient email address.
- Edit the address if needed.
- Save the changes.
7. Configure SMS Integration
- Select an integration from the SMS Integration dropdown field.
- Ensure the selected integration is active and configured.
- Verify connectivity with the SMS service provider.
8. Configure SMS Contact Number
- In the Contact Number field, enter the mobile number for alerts.
- Edit the number if required.
- Save the changes.
9. Test Alert Settings
- Click Test Alerts or Test Settings.
- Trigger a sample notification.

- The email is received.
- The SMS notification is delivered successfully.
If alerts are not received, verify email, phone number, and integration settings.
10. Test with Standard Badge Stacks
To ensure accurate badge count tracking:

Load a fixed badge stack of:
- 200 badges,
- 225 badges, or
- 250 badges
- Ensure the stack fits fully into the kiosk badge loader.
- Reset the badge count.
- Begin printing.
- Verify that the system correctly tracks usage until the stack is empty.
Using standardized stack sizes helps maintain reliable badge count and alert accuracy.
