Configuring Marketing URL for The Event
Overview
The Marketing URL feature allows users to create a customized, shareable link for their event. Users can expand the Marketing URL panel, choose a base URL, enter or edit a custom path, copy the generated link, and remove the marketing URL when needed.
Step-by-Step Approach
1. Expand the Marketing URL Section
- Open the Event Dashboard for the event you want to configure.
- Click Event Settings and locate the Marketing URL section.
- Click the Marketing URL section header to expand it and reveal the available controls.
2. Select Marketing URL from the Select Field
- In the Marketing URL select field, choose the desired base or domain option from the dropdown list.
- The selected base URL will be used together with the custom path to form the full Marketing URL.
3. Enter or Edit Path
- Locate the Path input (often labelled Path or Custom URL).
- Type a short, readable path (for example:
annual-summit-2026). - If a path already exists, edit the text as required and confirm any validation messages (e.g., uniqueness or invalid characters).
4. Copy the Generated Marketing URL
- After selecting the base and entering the path, the system will display the full Marketing URL.
- Click the Copy or Copy URL button to copy the full link to your clipboard.
- Paste the link into emails, social posts, or promotional materials as needed.
5. Remove the Marketing URL
- To remove the Marketing URL, click the Remove Marketing URL button or trash/delete icon within the Marketing URL section.
- Confirm the removal when prompted — this will clear the path and deactivate the custom URL for the event.
Tip: If you cannot see the Marketing URL section or the options are disabled, check your user role and permissions or contact your administrator — some settings are restricted to users with specific roles.
