The Email Builder allows users to add and configure a Call To Action (CTA) component within an email campaign. This component is used to highlight key actions such as buttons, links, or important messages that drive user engagement. Users can configure text elements, button properties, links, and styling options. This article explains how to configure, manage, and validate the Call To Action component in the final email content.
Step-by-Step Approach
1. Add Call To Action
- On the Event Dashboard, go to the Content module.
- Click on Email Campaigns.
- Select an existing campaign or create a new one.
- Go to the Design tab and click the Edit Template button.
- Locate the Call To Action component from the available elements.
- Drag and drop the Call To Action into the desired section of the email layout.
2. Configure CTA Properties
a. Enter or Edit ID
- Locate the Id field.
- Enter or update a unique identifier for the component.
b. Enter or Edit Title
- Find the Title field.
- Enter or modify the title as needed.
3. Select Section Version Type
- Locate the Section Version Type dropdown field.
- Select the appropriate version type from the list.
This defines the layout or structure variation of the CTA.
4. Configure Header / Headline / Text

a. Enter or Edit ID
- Enter or update the ID for header/headline/text fields.

b. Enter or Edit Title
- Enter or modify the title for header/headline/text.

c. Edit Content
- Click inside the editor and update the content.

Use available styling and formatting options such as:
- Font size and style
- Bold, italic, underline
- Text alignment
- Spacing and formatting
5. Use Merge Tags
- Locate the Merge Tags dropdown field.
- Select the required merge tag.
- Insert it into the content.
Merge tags allow dynamic personalization.
6. Configure Button Settings
a. Enter or Edit Button Title
- Locate the button text field.
- Enter or update the button label.
b. Enter or Edit URL
- Enter the destination URL (with or without https).
c. Select Target
- Choose how the link should open (same tab or new tab).
7. Style and Rename Button
- Edit the button directly within the builder.
- Apply styling and formatting options as required.
8. Reposition the Call To Action
- Drag the Call To Action component to move it within the layout.
- Place it in the desired position in the email structure.
9. Remove the Call To Action
- Select the Call To Action component.
- Click on the Remove/Delete option.
10. Validate as a Participant
- Preview or send a test email.

- The CTA content is displayed correctly
- The button text and styling appear as expected
- The URL redirects correctly based on the selected target
- Merge tags render correctly with dynamic data
- The CTA is positioned correctly within the email layout
