Adding Fields on the Form for an Email Template
Overview
The Email Builder allows users to add form fields within specific form-based components such as the Single Column Form and Two Column Form. These fields help capture or display structured information within email campaigns. Users can drag and drop various field types into these forms to organize data effectively. Participants can validate the placement, readability, and editability of these fields in the final email content.
Step-by-Step Approach
1. Add a Form Component
- On the Event Dashboard, go to the Content module.
- Click on Email Campaigns.
- Select an existing campaign or create a new one.
- Go to the Design tab and click the Edit Template button.
- Locate either the Single Column Form or Two Column Form component.
- Drag and drop the selected form component onto the email canvas.
2. Add Fields to the Form
- Locate the available field types within the Email Builder.
- Drag and drop fields into the form component (Single Column or Two Column), such as:
- Text
- Date
- DateTime
- URL
- Document
- Image
- Ensure that fields are only added within the form components.
3. Arrange Fields Within the Form
- Click and drag fields within the form to adjust their placement.
- In a Two Column Form, distribute fields across both columns as needed.
- Ensure proper alignment and logical grouping of fields for better readability.
4. Remove Fields or Form
- To remove a field:
- Select the field within the form.
- Click on Delete/Remove.
- To remove the entire form:
- Select the form component.
- Click on Delete/Remove.
- Confirm the action.
5. Validate Fields (Participant View)
- Open or preview the email as a participant.
- Verify that the fields are visible within the form.
- Ensure:
- Fields are correctly placed within the form layout.
- Content is readable and properly aligned.
- Fields appear structured in single or two-column format as configured.
- Field values (if applicable) are displayed correctly.
- The layout is responsive and displays properly across devices.
- Values can be entered and selected for the respective fields as applicable.
