Adding and Configuring Social Media for an Email Template
Overview
The Social Media component in the Email Builder allows users to include social media icons within email campaigns, enabling participants to quickly navigate to social platforms. This enhances engagement and brand visibility.
Users can configure properties such as ID, Title, Dependency, Section Version Type, and customize each social media icon with image settings, alt text, URLs, dimensions, and target behavior. Participants can also validate how the social media links appear and function in the final email content.
Step-by-Step Approach
1. Add the Social Media Component
- On the Event Dashboard, go to the Content module.
- Click on Email Campaigns.
- Select an existing campaign or create a new one.
- Go to the Design tab and click the Edit Template button.
- Locate the Social Media component from the available elements.
- Drag and drop the Social Media into the desired section of the email layout.
2. Configure Social Media Properties
- Click on the Social Media component to open its settings panel.
- Enter or edit the following:
- ID: Assign a unique identifier.
- Title: Provide a meaningful title.
- Dependency: Select the appropriate option from the dropdown.
- Section Version Type: Choose the required version type from the dropdown.
- Image Set: Select the desired icon set from the Image Set dropdown.
3. Configure Social Media Icons
- For each social media icon:
- Enter or edit the Alt Text for accessibility.
- Enter or edit the URL for the respective social platform.
- Select the Target (e.g., same tab or new tab) from the dropdown.
- Enter or edit the Height for the icon.
- Enter or edit the Width for the icon.
4. Reposition the Social Media Component
- Click and drag the Social Media component.
- Move it to the desired location within the email layout.
5. Remove the Social Media Component
- Select the Social Media component.
- Click on Delete/Remove.
- Confirm the action to remove it from the email template.
6. Validate Social Media (Participant View)
- Open or preview the email as a participant.
- Verify that the Social Media icons are visible.
- Click on each icon and ensure:
- The correct social media page opens.
- The URL is accurate.
- The selected target behavior works correctly.
- Icons are displayed with the correct size and alignment.
